The Ruidoso Bog Springs project began in June 2013 with utility locating. After digging three habitat ponds in an historic wetland of a meadow area, we diverted water out of the ditch and into the historic meadow surface. By the next morning, the first pond was overflowing and the second two were filling up with groundwater. Later we built a Plug 'N Pond at the point of diversion to permanently redirect the water to the meadow. At this point, the upper Plug and Pond treatment and wet meadow restoration were complete. Next we will built a water feature in front of Ruidoso High School, about ½ mile downstream from this site.
